Advisory Committee

The Roofing Subcommittee and Roofing White Paper Sub-Committee collaborated with the Technical Committee to write, develop, and publish AMAP's newest White Paper: Recycling Mod-Bit Roofing or Polymer Modified Asphalt Roofing Products. The Roofing Subcommittee will be looking at which topics may be considered next for further exploration.

The Roofing, Paving, and Agency subcommittees all met together on October 16 at the 2025 AMAP Annual Conference & Workshop. The AMAP Advisory Committee released Issue 3 of its Quarterly Tech Brief in conjunction with the annual meeting. This issue provided an overview of the Low Carbon Transportation Materials Grant Program, recent federal and state sustainability initiatives, and collaborative strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in pavement construction.

Events Committee

In the lead up to the Annual Meeting in Lexington, the Events Committee was busy with preparations for the Conference portion of the meeting. Members of the Committee worked to review Conference presentation submissions and provide feedback to speakers ahead of the event. The Committee met following the Annual Conference to review survey feedback from attendees, and also to begin discussions about abstract submissions for the 2026 AMAP Annual Conference & Workshop, to be held in Boston at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza from October 19-20, 2026. At the beginning of 2026, Jhony Habbouche will be taking over as Chair of the Events Committee. Thank you to outgoing Chair Trey Wurst!

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee met ahead of and also at the Annual Meeting in Lexington. A Tri-Member Survey was sent out this summer to AMAP members who are also members of NAPA/AI or ARMA/AI (responses are still being accepted!). The committee also focused on getting ready for the meeting in Lexington, including: selecting and ordering speaker gifts, promoting the conference through various channels and LinkedIn, and other industry channels. Committee members also helped represent AMAP at NCAUPG and PARC over the summer. If there is a conference or trade show where you would like to see AMAP, please let us know! Finally, Julie Anne Geyer has taken over as Chair of the committee as of the October annual meeting. Thank you to Mike Matheny for serving as Chair!

Technical Committee

The Technical Committee has been busy both working on and looking ahead to new projects. Over the summer, the Technical Committee worked with the Advisory Roofing Sub-Committee and Advisory Roofing White Paper Sub-Committee to finalize the roofing White Paper (now available on the AMAP website). A Cracking white paper has been drafted and will be going through the revision process in the coming months. An annual review of the AMAP Glossary was also completed.

The Committee has narrowed down and selected their next projects, which include subcommittees for: TxDOT Modified Binders Project, RAS in Paving, Literature and Links Categorization, Roofing/IBHS/Wind Certification, HPG or "HMA" Why and Where, and the EPD Task Force. There are some opportunities for individuals to join and/or lead various subcommittee initiatives.

Finally, Codrin Daranga will be stepping into the role of Chair as of January 2026. Thank you to outgoing Chair Mark Stewart for your service!

Education Committee

The Education Committee was busy with preparations for the Workshop portion of the annual meeting in October. They worked to develop the agenda for the Workshop's three sessions: General Session, Paving Track, and Roofing Track. Committee members also reviewed Workshop speaker presentations ahead of the event. They are now looking ahead to the 2026 AMAP March Educational Workshop, which will be held March 9-11, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol City. The Education Committee met in Lexington to start thinking about the March workshop format, and also contacts in the general region who might be able to present and/or help shape the Workshop program. Finally, the Education Committee also recently updated and approved a new charter and updated the current membership roster.
