Binder Lab Technician

Full-Time position with benefits! This is a career position with advancement opportunity in a leading materials’ testing firm.
The Binder Lab Technician will report directly to the Binder Lab Manager. Typical schedule will be 9-5 Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work required.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Evaluation of asphalt & related materials in a laboratory environment.
• Ability read, understand, and perform testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and other standard test methods.
• Become proficient in testing protocols for asphalt binder testing.
• Responsible for testing and reporting results to the binder lab manager in a timely manner.
• Responsible for proper use and care of lab instruments
• Assist with calibration and verification of lab equipment and materials.
• Clean and maintain equipment, lab areas and common areas to established PRI standards.
• Complete all assigned administrative requirements (work requests, time sheets and any other assigned).
• Must be willing to work overtime as required.
Qualifications / Skills:
• BS in Science is preferred.
• Required: 1-2 years of lab experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to follow standard lab protocols and written instructions.
• Requires a high energy level, with ability to multi-task.
• Detail oriented with ability to work clean and organized.

Pavement Services Manager/Engineer

The Pavement Services Manager provides technical and testing oversight for PRI’s asphalt pavement testing, evaluation, and assessment services. Typical schedule will be 9-5 Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work required.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for the direct supervision of the Pavement Services Laboratory.
• Conduct materials testing, evaluation and assessment as assigned.
• Direct technicians performing pavement analysis as applicable.
• Review test results and data prior to submission to client services manager for reporting.
• Maintains and calibrates pavement testing equipment as needed.
• Attends conferences, meetings, and seminars as requested.
• Prepares reports for review by client services manager.
• Must be willing to work overtime, and occasional field work as required.
• Must be willing to work in both lab and hot warehouse settings.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
Qualifications / Skills:
• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Florida PE is preferred); or a related field.
• Any of the following certifications; a plus – CTQP Asphalt Plant Technician level 1, NICET Construction Materials Testing Asphalt Level 1, Asphalt Institute Mix Design Certification
• Ability to effectively evaluate pavement distresses, and produce/adjust mix designs to meet job site requirements. • Ability to effectively manage a group of technicians.

The Asphalt Capital Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient use of Asphalt capital resources and is accountable for defining/executing capital investment projects in GAF’s 6 Asphalt Plants. Projects they will lead are essential to support both top-line and bottom-line company growth which may include but are not limited to: maintaining existing infrastructure to sustain safe, stable, and reliable operations; growing infrastructure to expand existing capabilities; deployment of new technology to expand our ability to consistently process a wide range of asphalt streams. The Asphalt Capital Project Engineer will also assist in creating reliability systems along with supporting the manufacturing facilities in order to provide optimum operational conditions in the safest and most cost-effective manner.

The successful candidate is a leader of capital project processes and of people: He/she must manage projects by guiding process owners---Operations Managers and manufacturing staff, Process Engineers, Capital Sourcing--- through the project schedule to perform on time and on budget.

R&D Manager - Asphalt Emulsifiers

This R&D Manager will be responsible for emulsifier R&D, technical services, formulations, field support, and associated lab operations. This person will supervise asphalt emulsifier and associated mixture testing in the laboratory both for R&D and technical service projects, manage priorities, schedule resources, manage materials, records, and team training. This person will be responsible for executing AASHTO accreditation for the liquids testing laboratory. This person will be responsible for raw material evaluations and new innovations in asphalt emulsifiers.

MS or PhD in Organic or Polymer Chemistry or Physical Chemistry or related Scientific Discipline required. 5-10 Years’ experience in asphalt related formulations and or related laboratory operations desired. Experience in designing/selecting surfactants, material property characterization desired
