Benefits

The Association of Modified Asphalt Producers (AMAP) was established nearly 25 years ago by a group of key industry personnel.  AMAP was formed to provide a marketing focus for information about the benefits of modified asphalt binders and paving systems. As an Association, we believe we offer our members a number of benefits that will contribute to the growth of their individual organizations while providing a better and more cost-effective transportation infrastructure through the advancing technology of modified binders.

AMAP strives to provide value to our members by:

  • Providing strength in numbers. AMAP’s goal is to provide a credible industry voice to inform and educate end-users about the features, functions, and benefits of modified asphalt binders.
  • Providing a clearinghouse of information relevant to the use and performance of modified asphalt binders that will allow for more informed systems choices.
  • Providing a network of industry leaders who can lend creditability and data
    in support of individual member efforts to provide modified binder options
    to skeptical end-users and specifying agencies.
  • Providing timely updates regarding legislative and technology changes at the federal and state level that may impact AMAP members.
  • Providing a unified voice in shaping legislation, policy, and technical protocols at the federal and state level as they relate to the use of modified asphalt binders and paving systems.

Producer

Companies that manufacture and/or sell modified asphalt binders (as defined by the association) to the paving or roofing industry.


$2,500.00 Annually

Supplier

Companies that derive significant income by supplying polymers, chemical additives, or modifiers used directly by the Producer Members.

$2,500.00 Annually

 Join as Supplier

Associate

Companies that provide services and equipment to the Producer and Supplier Members. This group will include testing laboratories, engineering, research firms, equipment manufacturers, laboratory supply, and software companies. Any company that sells technology by royalty or fee will also fall in this category.

Allied

Companies that utilize modified asphalt binders or additives in mixtures or in roofing products and provide a finished good to an agency/owner or an end user, and companies that supply additives to Producer members that modify products not directly added to the asphalt binder in efforts to enhance performance of asphalt mixtures and roofing products. International affiliates that are Producers, Suppliers, or Associates who do not do business in North America. Manufacturers who produce polymers, chemical modifiers, or additives but are not yet used to modified liquid asphalt (emerging technologies) are Allied Members for up to 2 years until they define their position as a Producer or Supplier Member. The list of approved Allied members must be brought up to the board for review after two years. The Board may approve them as a Producer, Supplier, or Associate member, or may re-approve them as an Allied Member.

Individuals that provide only technical consulting services for revenue in efforts to advance the use of modified asphalt.

Individuals from organizations not falling in the other membership categories, interested in the advancement of modified asphalt.
