I have started doing research in the area of asphalt pavement materials since 2011 as a master’s student. I investigated the effect of nano-materials on fatigue performance of asphalt binder and moisture susceptibility of asphalt mixture in my master’s studies. In 2016, when I started my Ph.D. studies at Louisiana State University, as a part of FHWA Pooled Fund TPF 5-(294) project “Develop mix design and analysis procedure for asphalt mixtures containing high RAP/ or RAS contents”, I investigated the effect of RAP and RAS on the fatigue/fracture performance of asphalt mixtures. The result of the aforementioned study has been published in the Transportation Research Record Journal, Construction, and Building Materials Journal, and International Journal of Geomechanics. As my Ph.D. dissertation, I am working on using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) in cyclic SCB test to establish crack propagation laws in order to simulate pavement cracking in a more realistic manner.

I have 3 years of experience in pavement maintenance and highway design and construction companies. Geometric and pavement thickness design were performed at a highway design company. My responsibility was to design asphalt pavement thickness based on the AASHTO method. Besides, I checked daily and monthly reports on laboratory test result in order to verify asphalt mixture design and optimum binder amount. Furthermore, I had monthly inspection to check the quality of construction in terms of mixing and compacting temperature and density measurements.

I enjoy playing soccer and volleyball during the weekends. Also, I prefer to use a bicycle as a mode of transportation if the weather is suitable. Besides, I enjoy running around the university lake which is located in my neighbor. Apart from that, I spend my leisure times to hang out with my friends. Living in a city with natural attractions has motivated me to use that environment to unwind and relax. Climbing is one of my favorite activities to strength my body and increase my stamina.
