My interest in Asphalt also known as "Bitumen" started as an undergraduate research assistant studying Chemical Engineering at Covenant University, Nigeria. I carried out Rheological profiling using flow models on Starch and Bio-Modified Bitumen under the supervision of Dr. Modupe Ojewumi. My research then was aimed at using Data-driven techniques and flow models to understand how Bio-modified Bitumen responds to stress, as this offers unparalleled insight into its textural, handling and stability characteristics. This was my first foray into material research and I fell in love with the whole research experience. This research experience also propelled me to apply for a Ph.D. at Tulane University, to further my interests in material science.
At Tulane University, under Dr. Matthew Montemore, although my current research leans towards catalysts, which is a shift from Asphalt, I am still an active member of the International Society of Asphalt Pavements(ISAP) and still keep abreast with current happenings, especially in the Asphalt research space.
After my graduation, I intend to leverage my background in materials design and chemical engineering to achieve the goal that pushed me to graduate school in the first place, as a research scientist in Materials design.

I worked for Julie-Bisk Nigeria limited after my undergraduate degree. Julie-Bisk primarily was involved in industrial safety and Construction. During my time at Julie-Bisk, the company worked on a number of small construction projects that involved safety installations. For Example, the construction of roads with the installation of Fire Hydrants.
