National Policy Expert Jim Kolb to Issue 2016 AMAP Keynote Address
Jim Kolb, partner at Summit Strategies Government Affairs LLC will kick off the 2016 AMAP Annual Conference & Workshop with insight on what’s happening (and what’s not) in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kolb is recognized as a leading expert in transportation policy, funding and financing issues.
Before joining Summit Strategies, Mr. Kolb served on the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2014. He began his service with the subcommittee as Staff Director from 2007 to 2011, and served as Democratic Staff Director from 2011 to 2014. During his tenure in the House, Kolb played a key role in developing and negotiating our nation’s current federal surface transportation authorization law, called “Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act” (MAP21).
Mr. Kolb has also held several high-level positions, including Senior Vice President for Xenophon Strategies, Vice President of Congressional Relations for the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), and Director of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Congressional Affairs.
